The plush landscape is dotted with pine and palm trees in varying shades of green intertwined with Spanish moss-draped oaks.

Activities

While many activities are available, Hilton Head is well known for two--relaxing at the beach and golf.

The warm, white sand beaches and salty air make an excellent walk anytime of the day. Early morning is especially beautiful as the sun rises just out over the Atlantic ocean to the east. Let the water massage your feet as you walk along the beach looking for shark teeth, shells and crabs that call the areas home. Pick up the pace and see more of the island by renting a bike from one of the many lifeguard stations.

One of the top ten golf destinations in the world, Hilton Head plays host to a variety of tournaments and provides an excellent golf experience with over one hundred courses within a one hour drive from any place on the island. Experience the thrill of a three hundred yard drive at the Robert Trent Jones course Palmetto Dunes; or watch in disappointment as your ball dances slowly to the water hazard before dropping gently in next to an alligator at Harbour Town.
